Chao Pinhole® Gum Therapy
While traditional periodontal therapy is effective, it is often somewhat painful and can require three weeks of recovery time. Now, there is a better option that does not require incisions, tissue grafts or sutures. In fact, the Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique takes as little as 20 minutes to treat two teeth and provides complete recovery in less than 24 hours.
Dr. Moriarty is proud to be the first dentist in Lancaster County to become a Certified Chao Pinhole Dentist, and he looks forward to discussing whether this treatment option is right for you. Here is some additional information about how the process works.
Intended to treat gum recession, the Chao Pinhole Technique is scalpel and suture free. Instead of relying on donor tissue and gum grafts to rebuild the gum line, a needle is utilized to make a small hole in the affected soft tissue. Through this pinhole, patented instruments are used to gently loosen the gum tissue. This makes it possible for Dr. Moriarty to slide the gum tissue to cover the exposed root structure.
In fact, there are many benefits of the Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique:
- Less post-treatment discomfort
- Faster recovery times
- No need for scalpels or sutures
- No need to take donor tissue from the palate of your mouth
- Beautiful, long-lasting results.
